It requires no touching, is entirely verbal, and it provides new thought pathways which modify the approaches and beliefs and emotions. When the feelings are changed any desire to go back to a lesser way is significantly diminished whether its procrastination or smoking cigarettes. Hypnotherapy works on the subconscious part of the mind, where traditional therapy and positive self-talk have extreme difficulty reaching- hence its effectiveness and it requirement for far fewer sessions.
